Biography 
Gregory Williams practice emphasizes estate planning and business law and he counsels clients on preserving assets for family members and charitable organizations, and all aspects of forming, operating and transitioning family and closely held businesses. Greg is a frequent lecturer on buy-sell agreements, stock gifting, and transitioning a family owned business from one generation to the next. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and a member of the Estate Planning and Business Law sections of the North Carolina Bar Association.

In 2007, Greg was named Corporate Walk Chair for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event, raising awareness to the organization and the disease, and earning the award of “2007 Top Fundraiser.” Greg was raised in Richmond, Virginia. He is married to Wallace, and has two daughters, Rachel and Laura. He is actively involved at Christ United Methodist Church.

  • Developed and implemented a variety of estate planning and estate tax reduction strategies for individuals and professionals, from straightforward wills and trusts to more complex strategies of sales and gifts to grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and various charitable strategies, including charitable remainder trusts and private foundations.
  • Developed and implemented plans to structure assets from potential creditors of physicians and other healthcare professionals, often including the use of statutory and constitutional exemptions, retitling assets, various trusts and limited liability entities.
  • Handled the negotiation and drafting of business documents for many healthcare practices, including shareholder buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, corporate formation and governance documents, leases, and various agreements between the practices and hospitals and surgical centers.
