Biography
Scott Tippett focuses his practice on wealth law and provides an integrated approach to estate planning and administration, asset protection planning, business law, and tax matters. He counsels individuals, families, and small to medium-sized businesses on a full range of business, tax, asset protection, and estate planning matters; from drafting business agreements for closely-held companies, to the transfer of a family business from one generation to the next, to estate and tax planning for high and ultra high net worth individuals.

Scott began his practice in Atlanta where he litigated major construction project disputes, complex white collar crime matters, and significant business and estate issues. In addition to practicing law, he ran a manufacturing company in High Point in the mid -1990s, which has provided him with a unique and broad perspective on understanding the various issues faced by businesses today.

Scott frequently presents continuing education seminars to attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other industry professionals regarding estate and asset protection planning, business law, and tax matters. He is also the principal author of The North Carolina Wealth Law Counselor, a trusted source of wealth law issues for clients and their advisors.

A native of Jamestown, Scott believes in giving back to the community. He coaches youth sports, leads a Cub Scout Pack, and works with Hospice. He lives with Chandra, his wife, and their three children in Oak Ridge.
