The attorneys
of Carruthers & Roth, P.A.’s construction
focused team have achieved consistent success
by addressing the myriad of issues that
may be encountered in the industry with
practical solutions to those problems regardless
of when they occur in the life of a project.
We recognize that many construction disputes
can be avoided upfront by diligent drafting.
To that end, we have expertise in counseling
a variety of owners, developers, contractors,
and subcontractors, both regional and national,
with respect to formation and negotiation
of contracts, project structuring, and bidding.
With our guidance, clients confidently undertake
projects with the peace of mind that the
legal issues that may arise have already
been thoughtfully considered and addressed.
While everyone in the industry would like
to avoid costly litigation, certain disputes
simply cannot be anticipated or prevented
ahead of time. As a strong complement to
our transactional practice, we also have
a wide range of experience in representing
our clients in handling lien claims, bond
issues, and contract disputes through litigation,
mediation, or arbitration before the American
Arbitration Association. We have defended
our clients in connection with claims for
personal injury or death arising out of
construction defects or jobsite accidents.
In addition, we have represented several
general contractors and specialty subcontractors
with respect to licensing issues before
their respective governing administrative
agencies, including the North Carolina Licensing
Board for General Contractors and the North
Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing,
Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors.
