Pro Bono and Community Involvement

Pro Bono Work

Carruthers & Roth provides pro bono legal services to a variety of religious, charitable, civic and nonprofit organizations, as well as financially disadvantaged individuals who are unable to afford representation on their own.  We believe doing so is good for our attorneys, our profession and the communities where we live and work.

You’ll find members of the Carruthers & Roth team actively involved in pro bono programs such as the North Carolina Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program (NC LEAP).  We also help to organize outreach initiatives sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Association, including statewide “Ask-a-Lawyer” events and a “Wills for Heroes” program to provide free legal documents to first responders.

Community Involvement

Carruthers & Roth attorneys are known for their civic leadership and community involvement – serving as officers, trustees, chairpersons and directors of a broad range of organizations.  These are commitments that reflect both the interests of our team and the needs of the community.  We also support educational outreach.  Our attorneys frequently deliver speeches and presentations to civic and business groups on topics of interest in their area of expertise.
