Carruthers & Roth Attorney Greg Williams Is Top Fundraiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Event

February 11, 2016

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Carruthers & Roth attorney Gregory S. Williams was recently recognized as the top fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2015 “Light The Night Triad Executive Challenge,” raising nearly $16,000 to benefit blood cancer research.

Greg also ranked third statewide among the 29 North Carolina executives who participated in the challenge. Together they raised more than $180,000.

The Light The Night Executive Challenge is a national campaign to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fund research to find blood cancer cures. Greg, who has been fighting chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) more than a decade, attributes his remission to an immunotherapy treatment funded by the LLS.

“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has funded research and development of monoclonal antibodies and other groundbreaking therapies,” Greg explains. “I participated in the Triad Executive Challenge to make sure that these treatments continue to be developed and that one day CLL and all blood cancers will be curable.”

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society also sponsors Light The Night Walks each fall in more than 200 communities across the United States and Canada to honor and commemorate lives touched by blood cancer. When the 2015 Triad Light The Night Walk took place on October 17, 2015 in Greensboro’s Country Park, more than 40 Carruthers & Roth employees joined Greg in participating.

Greg will be recognized for his fundraising efforts in Forbes Magazine and in an ad in a February edition of the Triad Business Journal.

At Carruthers & Roth, Greg is an estate planning and business attorney. Hecounsels clients on preserving assets for family members and charitable organizations, and on all aspects of forming, operating and transitioning family and closely held businesses.

In addition to being actively involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Greg is past president and past member of the board of directors of the Kiwanis Club of Greensboro. He is also a member of the Greensboro Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
