Greensboro, N.C. – Carruthers & Roth tax attorney Keith A. Wood presented at the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Real Property Section’s Hot Topics in Real Property (2014 Real Property Winter Program) on February 21, 2014.
Keith presented his topic, “2014 Real Estate Tax Update,” to a live audience of 150 attorneys and to more than 200 attorneys who joined via webcast. His presentation reviewed recent tax developments, such as tax rate changes, the new 3.8% net investment income surtax, and trends in income tax deferral transactions.
The program featured six speakers and covered a wide-range of topics including zoning issues, the latest real estate cases, updates to the tax laws, questions about minerals rights, the impact of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau guidelines on real estate practitioners, and ethics stories from the claims department.
