GREENSBORO, N.C. – Richard L. Vanore, a director and shareholder with Caruthers & Roth, has recently been named Father of the Year by the Greater Greensboro Area Father’s Day Council. He, along with three other honorees, were recognized at the Council’s sixth annual Father of the Year Awards Dinner which took place on June 1, 2012 at Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro, N.C.
The Greater Greensboro Area Father’s Day Council identifies and honors fathers in the Triad who have demonstrated the ability to balance their personal lives to serve as a role model for their children while making a positive difference both in their profession and the community. Honorees are recognized at the Father of the Year Awards Dinner, a high profile event that raises funds for the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Richard L. Vanore is a litigator with experience in professional malpractice, health law, personal injury and other areas of civil litigation. He has been recognized for his professional excellence by publications such as Best Lawyers in America® and North Carolina Super Lawyers. He was recently named “Greensboro Best Lawyers Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants Lawyer of the Year” for 2012 by Best Lawyers. Richard has participated in several community organizations over the years including the United Way, Greensboro Youth Soccer Association, and the Greensboro Chapter of the North Carolina Lung Association. He and his wife Sylvia have three children: Richard Jr., Gina, and Andrew, and 11 grandchildren.
The following honorees were also recognized at this year’s Father of the Year Awards Dinner: Roy Carroll II, founder, chairman and CEO of The Carroll Companies; Robert “Bob” Newton, retired president of the Cone Foundation; and Dr. Alvin Powell, a nephrologist at Carolina Kidney Associates.
For more than 20 years, the national Father’s Day Council has raised more than $21 million for its charity partners through the Father of the Year Awards dinners across the country. Since 2000, more than $9 million has been raised for the American Diabetes Association nationally.
